Artist: Susan Wainer
Artist Susan Wainer will be exhibiting her drawings at Bell's Tavern in Lambertville, NJ from August 10 - September 21, 2005. The end of summer suggests lush color and lazy, sensuous shapes to this pastel artist. Violets, pinks, and soft greens are the predominant hues. Undulating lines and feminine curves form images that are inspired by nature.
Through this bright and cheerful palette Susan wanted to express the various aspects of woman's role in life from Biblical days to contemporary motherhood to everyday life. The figures are stylized and reflect the artist's appreciation for Modigliani, Picasso, and Matisse.
Bell's Tavern is located at 189 N. Union St., Lambertville, NJ. The menu is an excellent blend of traditional Italian with eclectic specialities served in a casual atmosphere. The hours are: Monday - Thursday 6:00-9:30; Fri-Sat 5:00-10:00; Sundays 5:00-9:00.
