SINGER-SONGWRITER KAREN GROSS TO PERFORM

SINGER-SONGWRITER KAREN GROSS TO PERFORM IN THE MICHENER ART MUSEUM’S
OUTDOOR SCULPTURE GARDEN

NEW HOPE - August 29, 2005. Young Friends of the Michener Art Museum (YFMAM) are celebrating the end of summer with a special performance by area singer-songwriter Karen Gross in the Museum’s Patricia D. Pfundt Sculpture Garden on Wednesday, September 14, at 7 pm. The all-ages, outdoor concert will feature Karen performing her distinctive blend of folk, rock and pop music, along with a few musician friends.
Tickets are $8 for general admission, and $5 for Museum members or students with ID, which includes admission to the galleries (open until 9 pm that evening). Non-alcoholic refreshments will be served.
A favorite of local audiences, Karen’s warm, engaging stage presence reflects her love of sharing music with people of all ages and musical tastes. She has earned radio airplay (including XPN and WDIY) and performs regularly at premier Philadelphia-area live music establishments including the Tin Angel, Havana and Odette's, as well as music festivals including Musikfest and the Doylestown Arts Festival. Her self-produced album “Navigating” captures her versatility as a writer, performer, arranger and producer.
As a youngster Karen loved digging through her parents’ album collection, where she found inspiration in songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Carole King. With a few years of piano lessons under her belt, Karen began writing her own folk-pop songs at age 14 and was selected as a Finalist in the America’s Best High School Songwriting Competition. During her senior year at Central Bucks East High School in Buckingham, Pa., she recorded her first demo and was voted “Most Likely to Win a Grammy.”
Karen continues to attract a loyal following, drawn to her intimate songwriting style, gorgeous voice, and warm, engaging stage presence. A versatile musician, she is as comfortable fronting her high-energy band (known as the Karen Gross Project) as she is performing solo with simply her voice and piano. Her extensive music repertoire includes standards and contemporary songs.
Proceeds from the concert benefit Young Friends of the Michener Art Museum (YFMAM), a new group of active and enthusiastic Museum members seeking to explore the artistic riches of the Bucks County region and give back to the community.

Texas Hold "Em

Bet on Wednesday Night Fun with Texas Hold 'em at The Lambertville Station
Pub

Lambertville, NJ - It’s the real deal at The Lambertville Station Pub
Wednesday nights with free No Limit Texas Hold 'em.

Unlike casino gambling and home-based poker games with friends, you can
enjoy the thrill of playing poker each week without losing real money. Using
chips, players vie for prizes and can earn cumulative points towards
participation in The Station Pub’s quarterly Tournament of Champions.

There is no charge to play and anyone over the age of 21 can participate.
Play starts at 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday, and participants can register at
the bar. Tournament organizers are on hand to answer questions about game
rules and etiquette.

It’s a great way to learn the game, hone your poker skills and meet new
people.

Texas Hold 'em first caught the public eye in 1998 with the movie “Rounders”
starring Matt Damon and Edward Norton. It was the main game played during
the movie.

In 2003, Texas Hold 'em exploded in popularity as a spectator sport in the
United States, in part due to ESPN’s coverage of the World Series of Poker
that featured the unexpected victory of Internet player Chris Moneymaker
(his real name), an amateur player who gained admission to the tournament by
winning a series of online tournaments. Two additional Hold 'em series
debuted in 2003: the “World Poker Tour” and "Celebrity Poker Showdown”.

Located in the historic Lambertville Station, The Station Pub is
Lambertville’s premier destination for lively spirits, casual dining and the
best entertainment. In addition to Texas Hold ‘em on Wednesdays, the Station
Pub holds Trivia Night every Tuesday, Local Singer/Songwriter Night on
Thursdays and live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Station Pub is also a favorite after-work oasis and welcome retreat
after a full day of antique hunting and sightseeing during weekend getaways.

The Station Pub is located at 11 Bridge Street in Lambertville, New Jersey.

Bridgewater’s Pub
Chef Michael Zulli
(215) 387-4787

“Okay, so it’s the only place in the station that isn’t fast food, but it just so happens to be unexpectedly delicious. Our favorites here included the Wagyu burger, the spaghetti pie, smoked trout salad, crabcakes, and the weekly specials."

All-Day Indulgence

Zanya Spa Salon
Laceworks Building

Suite 7
Lambertville, NJ 08530
(609) 773-0770

“Everything is big here, from the cavernous, light-filled salon to the expansive, Moroccan-inspired relaxation room. Best of all, the services (they do body, hair, nails, you name it) are as personal as the space is striking.”

Eclectic Home Furnishings

Monkey Hill
6 Coryell Street
Lambertville, NJ 08530
(609) 397-3332

“This 10-month-old funky shelter emporium proves once and for all that the words “reduce, reuse and recycle” can be douwnright chic. The owners stock chests made of vintage yardsticks, rugs woven from sweaters, and aquariums fashioned out of old TV sets alongside splashy pottery by local artist Liz Kinder.”
