Images of the Mills

Prallsville Mills to host “Images of the Mills” Art ShowEntries for the Images of the Mills Art show are being received Monday, November 13, 12 to 5 PM and Tuesday, November 14 12 to 7 PM
The “Images of the Mills” art show offers area artists a unique opportunity to have their work become a part of the Prallsville Mills history. The Prallsville Mills is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The exhibit is open to work in all media. Historic photographs of the Prallsville Mills complex will be a separate category. All work entered will be seen by the visiting public a People’s Choice award will be one of the selected images. Only visitors to the exhibit will be able to vote for this award. Final images will be chosen to promote the Prallsville Mills, locally and nationally. The DRMS Development Committee will make all other selections. Prizes will be awarded.
Work chosen to promote the Nationally Registered Historic Prallsville Mills complex will be reproduced in a variety of media suitable to the images selected. The artist will maintain ownership of their work and will receive full recognition. Work is not required to be for sale to be entered into the show, a 20% commission will be retained by the Delaware River Mill Society for work sold. The exhibit is being sponsored by the Mill Society a non-profit organization responsible for the restoration, maintenance and operation of this important asset and resource in the Delaware River region.
Entries must be received on Monday November 13, 12 to 5 PM and Tuesday, November 14 from 12 to 5 PM. at the Prallsville Mills, RT 29 North, Stockton, NJ. The registration fee of $35.00 includes a family membership in the Delaware River Mill Society. Work must be wired for hanging. Entries are limited to one piece, 24 x 36 maximum size including the frame plus two portfolio pieces suitably mounted or matted with a protective wrapping. Sculpture cannot exceed 100 lbs.
Plein air painting groups have been seen painting the Mill all summer and early fall this show proves to be an interesting and varied exhibition. The public is invited to attend the opening reception on Friday, November 17th from 6 to 9 PM. The exhibit will be open to the public Saturday November 18, to Wednesday, November 22, daily 11 to 5 PM.
Pick up of art work is Monday November 27, 12 to 5 and Tuesday, November 28, 5 to 8 PM.
